All of our drawered boxes have brass knobs. The knobs are either painted a steel-gray texture or are covered with Femo Clay. Femo Clay is an oven-firing moldable clay available in numerous colors. We make the patterned knob coverings and then cover the brass knob with clay, trim them and fire them in an oven. The knobs are then sprayed with high gloss lacquer to accentuate the pattern.

The Buckeye Burl and Camphor Burl boxes have the sprayed colored knobs. We have tried and tried to come up with a colored clay pattern that consistently looks good with the wood patterns. Since there is such a wide color range on these woods we cannot find the right combo of colors/patterns yet.
